Credit Union Art Competition

The theme for this year's competition was 'Dreams are made of this'. Well done to Aoibhinn and Nicole who won in their categories! Here they are pictured receiving their prizes, well done girls!

Butterfly life cycle

First and second class recently learned about a butterflies life cycle. We created some very colourful 3D butterflies that show the 4 stages of a butterflies life.  They really brighten up our hall! 

Ice cream art

 Senior Infants and 1st class designed and created some yummy looking ice cream cones! Each cone has scoops of different flavour ice cream, which the children painted with sponges.

Reading

This afternoon was so bright and sunny we decided to read the books we picked from the library outside!

First Class Nature Trail

First class made the most of this sunny weather today going on a nature trail with Ms. Harrison. We explored the trees, plants, and mini-beasts living around our school grounds.

Mother's Day Art

Last week, we got ready to celebrate Mother's Day. We all made our own bouquet of beautiful colourful flowers. They took a long time to do but we're sure all the Mum's loved them!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a very busy day today celebrating St. Patrick's Day! We had great fun making our leprechauns and their pots full of gold.
In the afternoon, we joined the other classes in the hall to enjoy our Culture Day. There was lots of singing, music and Irish dancing.
Well done to Conor, who played the accordion, Ella, Sophie and Willow who did wonderful Irish dancing.

Animal Art

This week, we created pictures of spring chicks hatching out from eggs. We had great fun attaching bright feathers to make these cheerful chicks!

First class have made these wonderful additions to our hallway. We looked at pictures of owls and drew them, making sure we included ears, claws,a beak, big eyes and wings.  Then we carefully coloured them using oil pastels!

Science Day

We had a very exciting day today. A science day was held in the school. Declan, the coordinator, visited our classroom and showed us some very exciting experiments on sound and air. Later, we went to the hall and 5th and 6th class showed us even more fun experiments.

Senior Infant Maths

Senior Infants have been learning about heavy and light material this week. They were busy weighing how heavy their school items were!
